The story of us
A meeting that felt less like an introduction and more like a reunion.
He saw her and thought: absolutely not, she is
way out of my league.
She heard stories about him and thought: I
already like this person.
Neither said any of this out loud for a while.
It started, as these things often do, with a very good mutual friend who had the audacity to be a best friend to both of them simultaneously. She had been quietly telling each of them stories about the other — nothing suspicious, just enough to make sure that when they finally met at a birthday party in Cape Town on 26 April 2022, it felt less like an introduction and more like a reunion neither of them had scheduled.
He introduced himself anyway — despite the voice in his head — and was rewarded with a hug that lasted just a beat longer than expected.
He played it cool for the rest of the evening. Reserved. Unbothered. Very convincing. She saw straight through it and quietly filed that away for later.
They exchanged numbers, went home, and carried on with their lives. Messages came and went — occasional, breezy, no pressure. And then, because they were both attorneys in the same city and the universe has a wonderful sense of humour, they started bumping into each other at court. Not where they met. Just where fate kept showing up to remind them, cheerfully and repeatedly, that this wasn’t finished.
A year passed. April came around again. Something gave way.
The messages became calls. The calls became nightly, lengthy, slightly ridiculous in duration. She decided he was a shy little boy — sweet, gentle, entirely harmless. He was, by this point, completely gone on her and doing his level best not to show it.
Their first date was a Stormers match. Loud, packed, zero romance — and absolutely perfect for two people who needed to laugh before they could say anything real. What followed was a whole season of them: winelands weekends, rugby under open skies, long conversations between two people who think for a living finally admitting that this, right here, was the most interesting thing either of them had ever come across.
He asked her to be his girlfriend not with a grand gesture, but with a full heart, at her house, slightly overwhelmed, entirely sincere. She said yes. He has not quite recovered from the relief of that moment, and she finds this endearing.
Two years later, on their anniversary, he got down on one knee and asked for forever. She said yes again — without hesitation, without conditions, and with the kind of smile that made everyone in the room forget what they were doing.
He thought she was out of his league. She thought he was shy.
They were both a little wrong — and so very right about each other.
Today, they’d like you to come and celebrate the yes that started everything.

A stunning contemporary wine estate set against panoramic views of the. Cape mountains and winelands. Landtscap is where we’ll beginour forever — and we cannot think of a more beautiful place to do it.
The venue is accessed via a gravel road. Follow signage from Bottelary Road onto Blumberg Road, past the Devonvale Golf Estate, and continue straight until you reach the farm.

Sleep well in the
winelands
We recommend booking accommodation as early as possible. The Devonvale, Bottelary, and Kromme Ree areas offer the most convenient stay.
Please note: There is a gate between Landtscap and the Devon Valley that the venue does not have access to. Unless an establishment specifically has access to the JC Le Roux gate, we ask that guests avoid booking Devon Valley accommodation. The two Devon Valley options below have confirmed gate access.

If your question isn’t answered here, please reach out directly — we’re happy to help.
When should I RSVP?
Please RSVP as soon as you receive your invitation — this is extremely helpful for our planning. The deadline is 15 August 2026. After that date, unanswered invitations will unfortunately be marked as not attending due to vendor cut-off dates.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive at Landtscap between 13:30 and 13:45 to allow time for parking and to be ushered to your seat. The procession begins promptly at 14:15. Guests who arrive after the procession has begun will only be seated once the couple has been announced as husband and wife — so please don’t be late.
What time should I arrive?Can I take photos during the ceremony?
Our ceremony is unplugged. We kindly ask that all guests refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony — please don’t block our professional photographers who will be capturing every moment. We’ll share everything with you afterwards. Once the ceremony is complete and we’re officially announced as husband and wife, it’s all systems go!
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to limited space, we can only accommodate those formally invited. If you’ve been given a plus one, it will be noted on your invitation. Please RSVP accordingly.
Are children welcome?
Due to space constraints, we’ve made the decision to keep our wedding adults only — with the exception of children who are part of the wedding party. We encourage you to use this as a date night and enjoy an evening to yourselves.
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available at the venue. However, for those planning to enjoy drinks with us, we strongly recommend using Uber or a similar service so you can fully enjoy the evening without worrying about driving.
Will there be a bar?
There will be a cash bar available at the venue. Please note that bringing your own alcohol is strictly prohibited — we encourage you to make use of the bar facilities provided.
What if I can no longer attend?
We completely understand that life happens. If you’re no longer able to attend, please notify us directly as soon as possible and update your RSVP to “not attending.” We’ll miss you and hope to celebrate with you another time.
